Les Palmiers Bleus: Five bedrooms, steps from the beach
Quick Summary
Planning a holiday for five couples or a multigenerational family usually involves one compromise: either everyone stays together, or everyone gets enough privacy. Les Palmiers Bleus manages both.
This five-bedroom villa in Terres Basses spreads its rooms across three levels, giving a group several natural ways to divide the house. Add a generous pool, a private tennis court, and Plum Bay Beach about 100 metres from the front door, and the practical details of a group holiday become surprisingly simple.
A smarter setup for group stays
The layout is what makes Les Palmiers Bleus particularly useful for a mixed group:
On the main level, two bedrooms connected to the house have interior as well as exterior access. Each has an ensuite bathroom and a terrace opening directly onto the pool area. These rooms suit guests who like to be close to the kitchen, living spaces, and the general rhythm of the house.
One level below, two more bedrooms which have exterior access only. They share their own terrace with a dining table and lounge area, separate from the pool deck. This level works well for a family unit, two couples, or anyone who appreciates a quieter corner while remaining part of the same villa.
The fifth bedroom is a completely separate studio. It could be the right choice for grandparents, a couple travelling with a baby, or simply the guests who drew the long straw and prefer a little extra independence.
Everyone can meet by the pool for breakfast or an evening drink, but nobody needs to follow exactly the same schedule. That is often the difference between a house that merely sleeps ten and one that genuinely works for ten.
One minute between villa and beach
The pool is the villa’s natural gathering place. The main terrace, loungers, outdoor living areas, bbq, and two main-floor bedrooms all connect here, so the space feels social without requiring much planning.
When the beach calls, Plum Bay is roughly a one-minute walk away. The beach is about 100 metres from the property, close enough to head over for a morning swim, return to the villa for lunch, and go back for sunset without packing for a full beach day.
Plum Bay, or Baie aux Prunes, is one of the quieter beaches in Terres Basses. There are no restaurants, beach clubs, or rows of rental loungers. Its appeal is precisely that it remains natural and low-key.
Conditions can change its character completely. On calm days, the bay is suited to swimming and exploring with a mask and snorkel. When a good swell arrives, surfers gather near the rocky end of the beach to the right. The beach is also associated with the island’s sea turtle nesting season, an important reminder to give nests and hatchlings plenty of space and to avoid bright lights on the sand at night.
Private Tennis Court
Few villa amenities create friendly competition quite as quickly as a tennis court. Les Palmiers Bleus has its own private court and provides rackets, making an early match easy before the heat of the day settles in.
Where to eat nearby
For dinner close to home, Nettle Bay is about a five-minute drive away. Mezza Luna and La Cigale are two nearby options, whether the group is in the mood for an informal meal or a more leisurely dinner by the lagoon.
Porto Cupecoy, on the Dutch side, is approximately 10 to 15 minutes away and offers another convenient cluster of restaurants around its small plaza. The choice makes it easy to alternate between relaxed evenings at the villa and dinners out, without turning every reservation into a cross-island journey.
Les Palmiers Bleus is an especially good fit for: multigenerational families who want privacy between age groups; two families who would like separate sleeping zones; tennis players who want a private court at home; and beach lovers who value proximity over beach-club service.
The villa is not about placing everyone under one roof and hoping for the best. Its strength is a thoughtful balance: shared days around the pool and at Plum Bay, with enough separation for each guest to retreat at the end of them. Contact us for more information and/or availability.
