Ocean 5 sits high on the slopes of Mont Choisy, an exclusive ocean view neighborhood, on the northern coastline of French St. Martin and enjoys an unobstructed panorama of the Caribbean Sea with the neighboring island of Anguilla in the distance and just below the beaches of Friar’s Bay and Happy Bay. The contemporary and asymmetrical lines of the residence follow the slope of the land and offer beautiful ocean views from each of the 3 levels, from the expansive open-plan living area and all six bedrooms.

A striking blue ocean vista awaits you as soon as you step through the main entrance of the ground floor into a light-filled living space with large glass sliding doors stretching the entire length of the room and opening out to a large pool and flower-lined sun terrace. Calming aquatints and natural wood accents feature throughout the house. A large dining table takes center stage of the living area. A very well-equipped and beautiful light wood kitchen makes for convivial mealtimes for large families or groups of friends. There are comfortable seating areas both within the air-conditioned living room and also in the lounge area of the outside covered terrace, just to the right of the pool. The terraced gazebo makes for an ideal spot for sunset lounging. There is a sunken living area with a TV, just off to the right of the main living space.

This ground floor level also houses two bedrooms: the master suite with a very large walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom with a raised tub and a second bedroom with a bathroom with access in the hallway. Both bedrooms have a terrace with ocean view.

Overlooking the living room, the upper mezzanine level offers a fitness room and houses the third bedroom with en-suite bath and a private rooftop terrace with a sunbed.

Two staircases descending from the pool terrace lead you to the three remaining bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own terrace with an ocean view and an en-suite bathroom with an open shower. Two of the bedrooms are connected by a door which is ideal for families with young children.

Ocean 5 is within walking distance of the beautiful natural beach of Happy Bay and a short drive to the charming seafront village of Grand Case; the French side’s gourmet destination and home to some of the best restaurants on the island. The popular beach bars, restaurants and water sports of Orient Bay are just a 15 minutes drive away and Friar’s Bay with two beach restaurants is just down the road.

This property is available to rent as a 4, 5, or 6 bedroom villa.

SXM Music Festival: ​P​lease note that at the beginning of March each year (exact dates TBD) there is an Electronic Music Festival on Happy Bay beach. There will be loud noise pollution during this time. Check the dates of the festival prior to booking if this is not something you're looking for in your SXM vacation experience.

Non-management villa with a property manager: Helene. All maintenance related issues should be addressed with Helene. Heated pool which can only be adjusted by property manager, under no circumstances by the guests. There is a white line drawn on the driveway to indicate the gate sensor range. If parked beyond the white line towards the gate, it won't open. The keys to the property are in a lock box on the left of the laundry entrance. Instruct guests that Jacuzzi has a maximum capacity of 4 persons at any given time.

Good afternoon all,

After dealing with current guests and talking with Geraldine, I realized some information might be missing during the check-in of Ocean 5. Please make sure the concierges inform the guests on:

- how the gate works, especially if anything is in front of the sensor (car, leaf, water drops, etc), the gate will not open for safety. Please show them the key in the kitchen drawer to open it in manual if there is really a problem. But 9 times out of 10 I am called for the gate not opening, it is just that the sensor is not clear. If there are very strong winds, it might block too for safety, it rarely happens. 

- What keys they have on each key ring. A key for the pedestrian gate, a key for the front door, a key for their bedroom. Please show for bedroom 4 that there is a remote for the shutter (Geraldine told me she saw guests opening the shutter with the manual handle because they did not know about the remote). Caution, the front door locks automatically. 

- How to use the remotes for the TV in the bedroom and TV in the living room. Or make a video, this is what I did for current guests. 

- How the oven works or show them the QR code with a video explaining how to use it. For the cooking top, it is induction so they need to put a pot on it to work.

- How to handle the sliding doors with caution, to open and close them gently, slowly, NOT slam them. When they do it too strongly, they break the locks. In the future we will charge the guests for broken locks if they do not use the sliding doors gently. 

- For safety when they sleep and when they leave the house, lock sliding doors and close shutters. Lock the pedestrian gate too. 

- How to use the safes. The current guests claimed that the safes were not working, Geraldine found out today that they simply did not know how to use them. (For information, they told Lydia on Sunday that they needed the safe keys for only 2 safes and today they are complaining they did not have access to all the safes...)

- Internet: the different networks, passwords, and where is the mobile box (Dauphin) that they can move anywhere. I believe right now this box is in bedroom 4. We do NOT have fiber in Mont Choisy so they should not expect very fast internet (internet is not good enough for Netflix on the TVs).

- inform them that the gardener comes every Thursday. If they do not want him, they should inform us in advance so we arrange his service another day. The pool cleaner comes twice a week, days might depends on the check-in/check out but it's generally on Wednesday and Saturday. 

- It is strictly forbidden to touch the pool equipment and heat pump for the pool. They should contact us if there is any issue. We will charge guests if they increase the heat, it requires more salt in the pool and might damage the equipment. The pool is set at 28 Celsius during the winter, it might decrease a little when it rains but we cannot increase the heat. 

- Show them the plastic glasses to use in the pool and jacuzzi. NO glass in the pool, if it breaks it is dangerous and will cause issues with the equipment. 

- how to use the lighter for the BBQ (the automatic lighter does not work, they need to use the manual one in the kitchen). There is an extra BBQ bottle in the laundry room.

- Indicate where the garbage bin is, by the community gate. 

- Please be prepared in case of a water outage to explain to them how to turn on the cistern, it might happen when the housekeeper is not there. No need to show them during check-in but have a video you can send when it happens. It is simple for them to do it, just 2 switches to turn.
