Difference in Departure Tax for St. Maarten and St. Martin

The Anguilla departure tax is lower for ferries heading to St. Martin (the French side) than for those going to St. Maarten (the Dutch side) due to differences in port regulations, government policies, and international agreements. St. Martin and St. Maarten, while part of the same island, have distinct customs and border protocols that affect travel costs. These variations can influence departure taxes and fees depending on which side of the island a traveler is heading to.

First time visitors should know that all persons traveling to and from Anguilla by ferry must clear Customs & Immigration at the Blowing Point Ferry Terminal. It is also worth noting that advanced reservations for the public ferry are not available.
