This winter, Delta will be offering new air travel options from Minneapolis-Saint Paul to the tropical oasis of St. Maarten and St. Martin. This offers travelers more convenient options to escape the cold and enjoy a Caribbean vacation. Delta flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to St. Maarten's Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The first direct Delta flight from MSP to SXM is set to takeoff on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 7:05 a.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT), and land in Sint Maarten at 2:40 p.m. local time. The first flight from SXM to MSP is also set to takeoff on Thursday, December 19, 2024, departing St. Maarten at 4:05 p.m. local time.
It is also worth noting that from January to April of high season, low cost carrier Sun Country Airlines also offers direct flights from MSP to SXM on Saturdays.
This newly announced route from MSP to SXM will start after the anticipated reopening of Princess Juliana International Airport's fully renovated arrivals terminal. With a complete reopening of SXM airport in September or October of 2024, this ensures that travelers visiting St. Maarten and St. Martin in the 2024 - 2025 high season from the Twin Cities will enjoy a modern and streamlined experience.
