Plantation, Florida-based GCG was just awarded a contract to operate five new dining locations and a VIP Lounge at St. Maarten's Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). GCG offers a range of specialized services and solutions for airlines and airports in 21 countries across the Caribbean and Latin America. Furthermore, GCG operates over 40 airport food and beverage locations within the two regions, according to the Moodie Davitt Report.
"These establishments cater to all travelers, whether they’re in the mood for a quick snack, a hearty meal or classic comfort food. We craft dining experiences tailored to each location by merging proprietary, international and local brands, drawing inspiration from St. Maarten's rich culinary tradition." - Daniel Muñoz, CGC Head of Airport Concessions and Restaurants
The five new dining options at SXM airport will include a locally inspired offering called "Caribbean Bowls" which will highlight vibrant flavors from St. Maarten and various other Caribbean islands. Additionally, "Wok to Fly" will offer travelers Asian-inspired culinary options, allowing customers to choose their ingredients and watch as chefs prepare their food. "Bistronomique" will offer classic French cuisine, serving food that resonates with classic French flavors. Lastly, two Wendy's locations - one before, and one after security - will also be opened as a part of this contract.
Princess Juliana International Airport's new VIP lounge will offer guests a handpicked selection of popular cuisines for international travelers along with state-of-the-art amenities. VIP lounges are popular for business travelers, as well as leisure travelers looking to relax before their flight. With flight durations from SXM to Paris exceeding 8 hours and SXM to Amsterdam exceeding 11 hours, the new VIP lounge will be a welcome addition for those preparing to embark on a long-haul flight.
