Quick Summary

Saint Martin may be a small island, however, there is an abundance of opportunities for relaxing, enjoying and indulging in everything the Caribbean has to offer. Spending a week on the island will leave any guest spoiled for choice with the countless beaches, restaurants and activities to try. What if guests only had one day to experience St. Martin? At St. Martin Sotheby’s Realty, guest experience is key to creating the most wonderful vacation experience thus the perfect St. Martin itinerary was born.

Early Morning

The day begins with the sun rising over the picturesque town of Marigot. Visitors can pick up an authentic takeaway breakfast from one of the many local French bakeries, savouring croissants and aromatic coffee as they prepare for a day of adventure. Fueling the body is essential as Fort Louis awaits after breakfast. Fort Louis is perched on a hill overlooking Marigot and showcases some of the best panoramic views on the island. The hike up is worth it with the reward at the top featuring a glimpse into the island's past all against the breathtaking St. Martin backdrop.

Midmorning

After descending from Fort Louis, the glistening waters at Friar's Bay and Happy Bay, call for attention. Friar’s Bay is a beautiful beach that features the turquoise sea and plenty of seating if visitors forget their umbrellas. In addition, there is an array of bars and restaurants for a midmorning snack or coffee pick-me-up. This is the perfect beach for families who wish to unwind with young children whilst enjoying the Caribbean weather. For a more secluded experience, hiking to Happy Bay will greet guests with one of the top beaches on the island. The hidden alcove is protected due to its vegetative, hill surroundings allowing for the most refreshing ocean moment. This gem also hosts the renowned SXM Festival during the month of March. Swimming in crystal clear waters and soaking in the sun is exactly what the Caribbean is made for and doing so in Friar’s and Happy Bay is perfect.

Midday

Lunchtime calls for a culinary adventure in Grand Case, St. Martin. Grand Case is located on the Northern portion of St. Martin (French side). The vibrant atmosphere is filled with the enticing aromas of Caribbean and French cuisine. The local LoLos, or barbecue shacks, line the streets, offering a chance to savor authentic island flavors after a busy morning. From grilled lobster to Creole-infused dishes, there's no shortage of delectable options to explore. Ordering a delicious yet satisfying chicken and ribs combo has never disappointed anyone. Whilst basking in the barbecued goodness, look out into the gleaming sea and take in the sites of Creole Rock.

Afternoon

Don’t get too comfortable as a quick drive takes guests to Maho Beach St. Maarten (Dutch side), where the thrill of watching planes land just overhead is an experience like no other. Maho Beach is located right at the edge of the runway of Princess Juliana International Airport, providing an awe-inspiring image as large aeroplanes ascend and descend just a few feet above people’s heads. It's an adrenaline rush that is unique to the island. In addition, this sight calls for a photo opportunity perfect for boasting to friends and family about the riveting plane experience.

Evening

To bring this perfect day to a close, embark on a sunset cruise around the island. Book a boat trip that circles the island from the starting point Simpson Bay, St. Maarten. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a fiery glow across the sky, appreciate sailing along the coastline while enjoying the tranquil waters and soothing sea breeze. With a glass of sparkling Champagne in hand, indulge in the mesmerizing colors of the Caribbean sunset. This serene atmosphere creates a relaxing experience for ending the day with this unmissable dusk event.
